The 50x4 channel amp is a Sony, I do not remember what brand the sub amp is (I want to say MTX, but could be dead wrong). When I built the original system, I did not go cheap or cut corners (hence the $3000 cost). I even had a custom enclosure made (which I have long since forgotten what has happened to it). I believe my JL Audios are capable of being set up in the "push-pull" configuration for deeper crisper bass sound.

If the sub amp is an MTX I would bet dollars to doughnuts that it's stable down to 2 ohms.

I have always found the 2 guys I hired that sit in the back with their multiplicity of instruments generally can play, at a volume I enjoy, just about any tune I want.
A problem I have found is although I fully enjoy their instrumental music, if I want to also hear the lyrics I have to hire a friend of theirs to ride with us to sing and he has to sit in the passengers seat.
Than we get into some want the top up, some want the top down.

BLAST FROM THE PAST!

Mr. V, did you ever replace your speakers in the trunk?

I never hear anybody mentioning speaker replacement of the Shaker1000 anymore. I still want to upgrade mine, as well as the door subs, but just waiting to hear if someone else had done it and got good results.
