Well I decided to wash my engine bay and I put a plastic bag over my air filter. After I got done I wanted to move it into the sun to dry. I started my car without even thinking and of course my my car choked and I shut it off. Opened the hood up and the bag made my air filter collapse on itself . I took it off and pushed the air filter back to somewhat normal. My question is should i be alright or can the wrinkles cause a problem. I wanted to get a new air filter just to be safe but I cant find a place anywhere that just sells the air filter.

+1 it won't hurt a thing. you can do a google serch to find a new filter. You could also call Steeda who you got it form.
I did do a search but could only find the whole kit. Yeah I think I will have to give Steeda a call, because i couldnt find a replacement on the site either. Thanks guys for the info, its not ripped but your right it does look like crap

I now run an AEM Dryflow which has a much stronger plastic frame. Plus there's no oiling! http://www.aempower.com/
That absolutely sounds like something I'd do!
Why just last night I pulled up at the gym, threw my keys in my purse, threw my purse in the back seat, got out of the car and promptly locked the door! Thank God for husbands with an extra set of keys! You are not alone.
It will still run without any problems. I ran mine for 2-3 months that way. It was only a week or two ago that I finally bought a new one. I've got a K&N intake and I found the new filter online.

Lol, I bet you knew what you did as soon as the car died.
Yeah I did . I think I made up a few new words too. Thanks travelers and stlwagon, Ill give them a look. Will I that filter fit the Steeda or do I have to buy the whole thing?
