What car did you give up for your Mustang? Mid-lifers apply here :)
When I see other Mustangs on the road I see all ages, men and women. What you can't tell is what they drove BEFORE getting their Mustang.
Here's my path:
1985 Ford Tempo (Just got married, first new car)
1985 5.0 Mustang GT (The Tempo was putting me to sleep)
1987 Mustang GT (Sold the Tempo)
1989 Aerostar (Had twin baby girls and tried the car seats in the 5.0, but nah)
Then followed years of family cars...2 Taurus (Tauri?), an Explorer (a purchase I believe is the sole cause of global warming because it didn't snow that year)...all the way up to a 2003 Pontiac Vibe.
So, after 20 years, I'm back in a Mustang 5-speed! They changed a few things since my '85 and '87 I see. My twins and their friends have pronounced my '07 "cool". The circle is complete, lol!
Well I'm only 30, but here is my path:
1. 1989 Dodge Caravan(16 years old)
2. 1992 Chrysler LeBaron Convertible(17 years old)
3. 1995 Ford Mustang GT(Brand new)
4. 1999 Jeep Wrangler Sahara(Brand new)
5. 2001 VW Jetta 1.8T(Brand new)
6. 2003 VW GTI 20th(Brand new)
7. 2006 Ford Mustang GT Conv (Legend Lime)(Brand new)
After my first run in with the Mustang, I promised myself that I would never buy another Ford again, until I saw the new style Mustang come out, and the Legend Lime color. I am not a fan of green cars, but something about Legend Lime catches my eye.
1.) 1986 Chevrolet Camaro 2.8L (383 Stroker Swap)
2.) 2000 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor (That thing was SICK)
3.) 1998 Ford Mustang V6
Merely three cars for my year of driving haha. First car, the motor blew out, second car I sold to my brother because I got bored with it, and now my mustang which I love

My wife had a 1967 ford mustang when she was a kid that was the reason she wanted a mustang again

1976 Chevy Nova with a 305 to 396 small block swap. Had a bad TH350 tranny, too many broken interior items... you had to reach outside the doors to open them... would never idle in the cold... drank gas so bad you could watch the needle drop... couldn't keep tires on it... bad brakes... wavy hood... rusted and rotten deck lid... rusted doors... sometimes I miss that car. This is when I was still in high school and had no idea how to fix the car, it just had a strong engine. Oh yeah, and a Realistic tape deck...
