Default I uploaded a new drawing I did...if interested

I uploaded a new drawing I did into my gallery as well as on the Mustang Artwork section. I will copy and paste my photo description here so I do not have to type it for a third time...

"This drawing was done for my painter who is going to start commisioning me to do all of his design work for all the cars he does... It all hinges on this rendering as to whether he will hire me or not. It is Prismacolor on marker paper. Orange is the main color (requested by the customer), Black is the secondary color, and the silver is the trim/highlight color. I added the Boss 429 hood scoop, eliminated the "C" part of the stripe, and added the silver pin striping outline to the black hood and side stripes. Tell me what you think of it!"

This is what I really wanted to do with my life. When art schools were turning me down because my portfolio was not "abstract" enough, I was crushed. So I became an engineer . The money is a little better but it is not where my passion lies. I want to get more into desgin/custom work on paper. I am thinking of starting up a website, or some service that if someone would like a drawing of their car, future car, what-have-you, that it could be a small little hobby business that I would love. I would do whatever medium the customer would prefer (stippling, scratchboard, marker, colored pencil, pencil) except paint. I have never been able to transfer my style to paint at all. Anyway, here is the first of my drawings for my painter guy. I will post a photo of my 2002 Bullitt Mustang Stippling piece sometime within the next week. Let me know if any of you may be interested in something like that if I ventured into that. Thanks!

Don't know if copying the URL will get you there or not...if it does not work, check it out in my gallery or the mustang artwork section. It's the Orange Boss.

That looks good. My brother is an artist (I'm the writer) but he does more cartoonish style things. I'd like one like with my car in it.

That looks great. I used to draw a lot when I was a kid and one day, poof!, I couldn't do it anymore. So if I were to give you a few pics of my car, you could make it into something similar to your drawing? That would be awesome as your display at a car show or to hang in the garage.

Great job!!

Default ...from one artist to another.....

I think the drawing is totally awesome. Excellent shading and just the right amount of perspective makes for an eye pleaser. A couple things that stand out for me are the detail in the wheels right down to the drilled rotors and calipers visible behind the wheel. Also, I love the way the glass was done, the way the light bounces off the glass and still have the interior visible. You could easily go pro!

I will have to get me some of that Prismacolor! Not that I could do that good, but I do like to dabble in the arts. All I have to work with now are colored pencils........

What is the size of the orginal drawing?

Thanks for the kind words guys. It means a lot. Do you think he would hire me? Hope so.

Anyway, I would love to do a picture for everybody interested, and I would definitely like to get my name out there where peeps can get me some customers. My biggest thing right now is to figure out how much to charge. I honestly have no clue where to start with that kind of thing. I have never sold any work of mine. I have always been selfish . Another thing too, is that I am partial to keeping the originals (kinda like Foose, he gives the originals to his boy and the customer gets a copy), which is something to consider. Maybe it will be something I will have to get over...or charge one price for the orginal and another for a photo copy print, if it makes that big of a difference. I don't know.

If any of you are seriously interested, PM me with your request, the picture you want done, and we will iron out the semantics of it when I figure out what I would ask for, and agree on everything. I would have to say that it would be a first come first serve basis (if there is more than one). I will let you know what number you are with relation to the other open projects and keep you up to date on progress and projected completion date. Also, to those interested, the way I like to do the drawing is that if in the photo, there is a reflection of a tree, or another car, or person in the paint of the car, I will take that out, meaning it wouldn't be an "exact" copy of the original. To me, having these reflections without having them on the paper would be silly and would look weird. That is just the way I prefer to do things.

Now, please answer the million dollar question for me if you have time....in your opinion, if I were to do something like the drawing I posted with the same quality or better of your car, how much would you personally be willing to pay for it? It took me about 8-10 hours from start to finish on this 14x17 drawing (I forgot to keep track). I know, it is not nearly as fast as Foose, but I am sure he could do a MUCH better job taking his time. That is not a slam, but you will notice that he whips through his drawings so that he can get working on the true piece of art...the car.

OH, one more thing, before making any decisions, let me post my other styles of work in different mediums so you can make an informed decision. Should have that up in about a week and a half. I will have to run back to my parents house to gather it all up.

Sorry for the LENGTHY post...just wanted everything out there. Thank you again for your interest and kind words.

I'd be very interested in something like that to hang in my office as well as on my display at the car shows. That's very nice work.
