Default Will California Emissions Matter?

I am debating between the purchase of two 2007 GTs. One has more options I want, but also the California Emissions System.

Does the CA emissions system affect the power to the wheels much or at all?

Hopefully you guys can help. I don't have to have the CA emissions here in MO, but the car with it is cheaper and closer to exactly what I want. (Yes, I am in the process of asking why they have a CA emissions system on a car here in MO.)

Wonder what makes it a "California Emissions System"?

I'll leave the final word to the California stang owners, but I've read where power is affected in other cars (differences with the cats was brought up). It would be so slight that you likely wouldn't notice, though. I'd say treat your two choices as essentially equal.

Thanks for the input guys.

Has anyone ever seen a CA emissions system vs. one that is not?

Am I making a big deal out of nothing?

50 state legal and a littel sticker in the engine compartment that states it is California certified. No loss of power vs. a stock non-CA emmissions car.

Seems to me it is a matter of building them the same, but paying for actual certification for those shipped to California dealers. I've forgotten what the cost is, but California buyers pay to have their smog-fitness GuaranDamTeed, to keep the Governator happy.

Actually it has nothing to do with the Governor....it has to do with the California Air Resourse Board (CARB)...which was actually created by a democrat governor. Californians voted to have stricter air pollution controls...so it must be the will of the people.

What an oxymoron. Let's make the laws stricter, but continue to put more and more vechicles on the road. Makes so much sense to me, NOT. The laws are stupid IMO. If you pass the sniffer and your car isn't hurting anyone, you should be done, period. None of this stupid, "oh, you moved the cats and the car doesn't filter bad gases anymore" crap. I see POS cars on the road everyday like it's nobody's business. I want to make a little more power and here they come, ruining my day.

Stupid CARB....

If it has CA approval it means you can later sell it to seven other states (like NY) as we need it here also.

yea Californ-e-ah has a Repulican Governator and a Liberal State Legislature.... every law we get passed falls under a Libertarian platform... nice one voters Our "Republican" leader actually wants to require hydrogen fueling stations all along the 5 Freeway and create lane for Clean Air Vehicles - he's only a Republican for the tax cuts

The liberal treehuggers are killing our state!!!

Isn't San Francisco scheduled to have that 8.6-er to knock them all into the ocean? (Yes I know our capital is in SACRAMENTO but the tree-huggers all congregate in Frisco)
