Default What would you change on the 2005+ Mustangs??

I've had my Mustang for almost a month, now. It's everything I was hoping for... but
I really wish it had a 6-speed stick. Keep the lower four as they are, but add a 5th equally spaced after 4th and make 6th a touch taller for real highway cruising, like 65-70 mph +.
Some LED taillights would be cool- I haven't seen any aftermarket that I'd buy- keep the original style.
The cupholder position can be awkward if you have anything but a small drink in there while shifting- I don't have anything in there normally. I don't know where else they could put it, either.
Get rid of the dead band in the throttle from idle. (I've downloaded this fix, but haven't done it yet.)

Nothing here is a deal killer, I can manage just fine. But what would you like to see changed?

Stripes. Should have gotten the stripes. Apart from that, loving my GT.

I had my '05' for a month before the FlowMasters went on, then it was a trip to the dyno shop after the CAI and Diablo tune set for 87 octane. After having my '07', I would go for one of the short throw shifters. All more go than show. I cruse to work every day at 70mph and find nothing wrong with the five speed, keeps the rpms right about 2200. The six speed would be nice when fourth is too slow and third just reves too much.

I'd have paid $500 more for a little nicer interior. Nicer visors, rear view mirror with thermometer and compass, less plastic in places that wear or scratch. Oh and windshield washer sprayers that clear the hood.
That being said I love my car and smile everytime I drive it.

I would have liked to have stripes on mine. I had to settle for no hood scoop when i bought my car off the lot, but i am in the process of buying a Roush scoop in the next week or two.

Hotshot-
I would rather not have had the scoop- it's just for show and makes the front end look busier than it has to be. Part of the appearance package- I'd keep the rest. I prefer the GT500 ducktail spoiler, too. Some black stripes would look great.

Got the scoop here and love it. It's not functional, as was noted, but it sure as heck makes me smile when I get in the car each morning. Gotta love the Mustang...

I like everything about mine but I would also would like to have the temp and compass info also.

Color matching rear view mirrors would have been nicer than the black ones. I am thinking about painting mine when I add a Roush hood scoop to mine. Mine is a 2006 model and did not come with a stock hood scoop.

i wish they made the scoop functional. I wish the car came with more power from the factory, and i want mods to be cheaper.

I wish Ford would've addressd the window streaking problem with a TSB....other than that, I'm always happy driving my Mustang!

More options, like:

Choice of 3.31, 3.55, 3.73, or 4.10 gears.

FRPP parts like handling pack, CAI, and GTA's available as options.

That way my wife isn't bothered by the idea of casting aside perfectly good new parts for enhancements.

And why is the console so high? Make it lower with plastic that doesn't scratch so easy.

+1 on this idea. I was thinking the exact same thing. Offer more options for the interior and performance-wise. I'm sure the higher ups don't want to cover all that stuff under warranty, but I'd be willing to pay a bit more if it meant that I got the car I wanted.

I also wish the interior panels weren't made of such hard plastic. My buddy has a IS250 and his panels are nice and soft. Still made of plastic, but with a soft-rubbery/leather feel to it.

Ford does offer this package (except the gears). It's called the Shelby GT. The only problem is they are way over priced.

- LOSE WEIGHT (about 400 lbs)
- Fix the ride height (the gap between the rear wheel and fender is excessive)
- Throttle response please.

Other than that I'm very happy with this car. Worlds better than even my '00 GT.
