Default Hurst short throw Shifter thread pattern?

So I'm coming home for a week of leave on October 4th and purchased a few things for the Pony. I was going to get either a T-handle or a pistol grip shifter, but seeing how I'm 6,500 miles from my Mustang, I really can't recall the threading on the "Hurst" chrome stick that came in the kit.

I read a few other threads, but most of them had different sizes.

So before I order one and it being wrong, can someone tell me what the thread pattern is on the short throw kit from Hurst for our S197 GTs?

Much appreciated. Oh yeah, I'm tired. It's been an odd day. I might as well be drunk and on here posting threads after rereading this one

Yeah, I've been working on average 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. So now that we got a few projects done, I took roughly a week of leave, just to specifically come home to mod the car and sort things out with the Girlfriend.

I think I went over the edge as far as mods go, I'm going to try to put all this crap on in one day:

Hooker Super Competition Long tube headers (Cutting the cats off the stock H-pipe instead of getting an X-pipe)

Steeda under Drive Pullies

Steeda Ultra Lite coil kit

CDC Sequential tail lights

CDC Hood strut kit

I also ordered 4*Nitto NT 555s 255/50ZR17s.... An alignment is a must after messing with the coils, So I figure I'll just throw them in the trunk and get then mount / balanced.

Hopefully it doesn't rain Friday, October 5th... I was planning on hitting the track to see what difference all that jazz will do... Probably be in the Mid 13s.

The headers are going to be the big factor. It took me 6 hrs to install mine. To make things easyer pull the batt drop the starter for the right side and I pulled the steering shaft up out of the rack to get mine in. Are you sure the factory pipe is going to come close to your new headers? Good luck

Well, Hooker claims if you cut the cats off and widen the H-pipe, it'll slide over the headers. If it doesn't work, I can figure something out. In the aircraft hanger (The old man's 48x80 garage), we got a car lift and stuff. I figure I can do most of the crap on Thursday (i.e. Headers, pullies and coils) then get my Nittos balanced / mounted and aligned Friday morning before the track opens @ 5.

I'll do a write up on all three installs and post them up here. I'm sure I'll have a bunch of pictures.

I'll also see what my ET drops, lets just hope the ground stays dry in Ohio.

Speaking of the Nittos, I assume the 255/50ZR17's will fit fine on the factory 17" rims? The Steeda coils are pretty conservative on the lowering as well, 1" in the front and 1 1/4" in the rear.

Oh yeah, so I might have lied a bit on the T-handle part... I ended up getting a Pistol grip and another Hurst ball. I somehow got pen ink on the one that originally came in the kit, then ended up scrubbing the black paint out of the shift pattern on top. I know, big deal, I could have just repainted it.

Oh well. Lets hope the pistol grip is fun.

I think the pistol grip is a nice addition. It might even feel better than the T.

Getting those headers to fit may be a challenge... It may take a little more fabrication than just cutting the cats off.

Yeah, it looks like you need a widening tool to open up the original H-pipe.. I don't know.. I really didn't want to run an X-pipe because of the exhaust note pitch difference. But I might just buy the Hooker's mid pipe and have it done right.

Atleast it'll be the right exhaust set up if I chose not to go the N/A route

It might be simpler to have an H pipe custom bent for you. I had one done by a local shop for $150.
