Tuning a 2005+ Mustang GT... Brenspeed or Bamachips--which is better?

Thanks for all the different posts. Sounds like there really isn't a bad thing to say about either one, which is great news. I guess it just comes down to personal preference. Thanks again guys.

I have the Bama tune. It's great, but a tad rich (I can smell it when I shut the car off). I guess that's ok though. I haven't used Brenspeeds tunes, but one can only assume that they are great given their rep for customer service and quality.

I think either would be fine.

Picked up nearly 0.75 sec and over 4 MPH in 1/4 mi going from stock to JLT II CAI and BamaChips 91Perf Tune. My otherwise stock '06 manual ran ~104 MPH in 80+ deg weather this past August; only time I've had it to the track since mod. Low 13's at 105 MPH seem reasonable with good driving and cool weather this Spring. I can't believe my car runs this good with only a CAI and a BamaChips 91Perf Tune!

So can you contact either company and tell them your tune is a tad rich and have them send you another? and would it be free?

Generally if there's a problem with a tune they will fix it without hesitation or charge.

Next time I go home, I'm going to stop by Brenspeed's shop and take a look around. They got some new cars they are starting to tweak. I'd like to talk out some lowering options with the techs also. I've only heard good things about them.

I gained 7 horses from switching tunes from Brenspeed to Bamachips. Other than that...both tuners are very good.

I think that both of them are great. I read pretty much everything on these S197 forums and have never gotten any bad feedback from either doug or brent.

And nothing else had changed? Same dyno, same temps etc...

any opinions on which is better for an automatic...i had read somewhere before that evolution performance does the best tune for automatics.

I'm running the Bama 93 perf. tune. Only complaint is it doesn't remove any of the throttle lag. Otherwise it's great.
