That's pretty much how I feel and better than I could explain it.

This car is all about the experience and feeling of that movie...it oozes testosterone whether or not you like the mods or think it's overhyped.

I'm reallllly interested in seeing if there will be a markup. I'm also hearing that some of the parts will be 'tightly controlled' to nix the possibility of cloning.

And while Dark Highland Green is not the flashiest of colors, it is absolutely correct for the Bullitt and a color limited to Bullitts only. In fact, its looks (and value) would only be diminished by mods. You don't want to see anyone adding stripes to a Bullitt, for instance. The Bullitt is just right for anyone who wants a very good performing and fairly collectible car that they don't have to do anything to once they buy it. Unfortunately, most of the posters here on AFM see adding mods to their Mustangs as not only increasing its looks and/or performance, but also as personalizing their car. The Bullitt needs to be left basically stock.
I'd still mod it up, at least with bolt on stuff.

Well, after talking with one of the IMBOC guys that was there for the unveiling, he asked if there would be something to answer to the Camaro and Challenger... get this... The Ford rep answered "yes"... it will be on its way. For all you guys that want the BOSS... that is probably yes. It is being developed specifically for the pony wars... let them begin!

Ford told the test drivers that the Bullitt was NEVER meant to be a light to light racer or 1/4 mile king. It was made to be a balanced ride that was still cheap enough for the average Joe to buy and enjoy. It was to be the car to emulate the original 68 390 gt... no more... no less. The parts will be tightly controlled for a long time. All the suspension, exhaust, paint and wheels are JUST FOR THE BULLITT ONLY and will not be offered by FRPP ... at least for a very long time. I don't think the exact parts will be offered. The highland green is only available for the bullitt. Also, the VIN is engraved on the "Bullitt plaque" on the brace under the hood... so it will be hard to reproduce or fake a Bullitt.

Also.. about markup... my original dealership (sold me my gt/cs and v6) was planning on a markup. But, I've talked to (2) dealerships that are not planning markups b/c with 7,000 cars, there will be plenty to go around. Also, the car can be ordered by dealerships as many times as they want, so the guy I talked to (mustang freak! haha) said that they will take a few special orders and then order a few for their dealer stock. An ADM would just slow the sale down. No one is going to buy the Bullitt if the markup puts it over an 07 Shelby GT. I like this guy. If I get one, I'm going all out and special ordering it. It will definitely be my last buy as I haven't been as excited for a car since I ordered my v6.

My new dealer did say though, "If you want one specially made, order soon, as after a little while of special orders, dealerships will probably order the rest of the 7k units for dealer stock with few options..." That makes sense.

I have heard of some dealerships, especially with crappy salesman that don't know the opinions about the car and the details, are marking them up probably.

I wonder what options it will have available. I know the 01 Bullitt only had the color option(black, true blue, and dark highland green), and the stereo option(6disk indash changer, or single cd). I don't know which stereo mine had because some a-hole took it out in favor of an Alpine.

Since it will be built on a prem gt body, the 500w shaker 500 6 in dash cd stereo will be standard, or you can opt for a 1000w version, the nav system will have the stereo built in.

Does that intake tube look like the same size as stock? And I wonder what could be different about the Bullitt H-pipe.

they probably just did the FRPP X-pipe with the stock cats... i can't imagine them putting hi-flow cats on a production vehicle.

As of right now, none of the parts are considered FRPP parts, they were specifically designed just for the production of this car. I'm guessing the cats are the same. They worked with the exhaust supplier to get the movie sound just right for the car.
