I just installed the Baer Decelerators & Hawk hps pads on the rear wheels. After one week of the rotors being shiny, they turned a dark color. Any ideas of why this happened. Can it be cleaned?

No it's because of the heat the pad generate while stooping. The type of pads and type of rotor generate different amounts of heat depending on how hard you stop.
