Thank you to all who gave me a respectful answer. I have decided to wait another year to contemplate buying a brand new Mustang. Maybe at the earliest next summer but not before then. In the meantime does anyone out there looking to sell or know someone who is looking to sell a mustang in semi good condition? I am ... Financially Challanged but i will give it a good home treat it with respect and keep it clean and running good.
Please send me a PM.
Thank you again to all of those with constructive answers to my problem.

I couldnt agree more.. Age doesnt mean much, yeah i know it means more time behind the wheel but technically thats nothing.. Alot of older people wreck these cars.. i mean damn ive seen it.. but then you look at the imature 16 yr olds.. or immature "**" year olds.. any age at that rate.. like yesturday.. comin home from college.. left campus.. about 1.5 miles away from my house.. my old highschool i just graduated from is also like 1.5 miles in the other direction.. well anyways.. its a long straightaway, and then it curves and goes under the turnpike hwy... i saw the silver 04 V6 stang w/ the same 4 kids in it again, but this time he was at WOT.. he had to be going over 100mph.. when he took the turn, couldnt even keep it in the lane and kinda slid into the outter lane.. you could see all the body roll for god sake.. hes lucky he didnt loose control of it.. it sure looked like he was almost there.. That just proves how stupid people are.. Dont matter what age, its just if your a stupid person and arent aware of the responsibility and risks of driving stupid.. theyll do it repeatedly.. im positive(but dont want to jynx it at all) that ill see this kid in a wall or poll real soon..

and as for the older people.. i was sitting 1st car at a light.. there was a turn.. and the car that turned.. they lady that looked to be about 40-45yrs old.. turned too fast..(in a rush) and went into understeer.. came straight for my driverside front/door../wheel.. luckily.. there was noone in my right lane, i quickly floored it to get out of the A**holes way... As i got into the right lane, i looked over, and the woman was totally where my car was.. if i didnt move i would have gotten hit at about 45mph.. that would have been the end of my frontend.. all due to a OLDER lady that was STUPID.. stupidity happens in any age group.. some people like her and the kid mentioned above, never will grow out of it..

Its the same thing as drunk driving.. you do it once.. get arrested for DUI.. you think theyd learn by now.. nope.. they go back out and do it again.. Its like they are looking to die.. i swear.. ive met people like that.. and its mindboggling..

As I read this post and some replying comments, it appeared no one has expressed the thought the majority of these cars are originally purchased by those over 25, who generally have more discretionary income, credit history and cash than those under 25. Younger versus older drivers is a discussion similar to blonde's versus brunettes - there will be no clear winner. Driving experience and ability comes through experience and time behind the wheel, accepting the responsibility, that is a discussion for another day.

You seem mature for your age, unfortunately insurance companies think that 16 year olds learned to drive on a Playstation. Problem is, most do. You are handling this maturely and asking questions and doing research. My wife's V6 with a Pypes Violator is louder than my GT with Flowmasters. I hope she doesn't read this, but her car sounds better cruising down the road at 65 than mine does. Other than the sound of the exhaust revved up, you really can't tell the V6 from a GT. The tag holder on the front is the give-away. So if you want the best of both worlds, read on.

Well, if you want the GT look, V6 insurance, and a pretty rare car there is a way. My dealer was talking to me about the 2008 Mustang and gave me a flier on a V6 with the GT package. If I had known about this package, I would have bought it new instead of buying a used GT.

Mustang V6 appearance package.
18" wheels
Chrome billet grill (I don't like it)
Black front lip spoiler
Hood stripes
GT hood scoop
Side scoops
Blackout panel between taillights
GT spoiler
V6 Bright Exhaust Tip
Upgraded floor mats

$22,875 MSRP

Requirements:
Timing- 2008 MY Job 2
Place order in CONCEPS
Body Code- V6 coupe (T80)
Array- Premium (120A)
V6 Upfitter Package (54D)
Ship through codes 31S and D95

Options:
Grabber Orange (U3)
Vapor Silver Metallic (ZY)
Dark Candy Apple Red (JV)
Dark Charcoal cloth seats (PW)
Dark Charcoal Leather seats (JW)
Premier Trim with Color Accents (KW)
5 Speed (44F)
Automatic (44L)

Exclusions: (Can't have these with it)
Pony Package (54P)
Warriors in Pink Package (54S)
Sport Exterior Appearance Package (54V)
Front end cover (972)
Over the Top stripes (47A)
Chrome Exhaust Tip (90E)

If you've read this far, here are the goodies.
Power Upgrade Package (FR1) $1,049
Adds Programmer, CAI, an oil filter, AND DUAL EXHAUST.

Handling Package (FR3) $1,279
Upgrades the sway bars, springs, AND LOWERS

As a complete package you are talking $25,203
Not a bad investment if you think about them installing it and then giving you a warranty. Now if they would just put a blower on it and call it some catchy name like Baby Boss (just kidding). Which is exactly what it looks like, a 69 Boss 302 without the fender stripes and one set of headlights. Go see if your local dealer has the flier on it.

Thanks alot for the info
I am def. going to check that out but i am having difficulty getting my parents to allow me to get another car.
I currently share a car with my twin brother which im sure you would guess is pretty hard to do with 2 diff. jobs and schedules and all of that.
It isnt a money issue too bad. more of just a parental problem at this point
any ideas out there for a way to convince my parents that i need my own car?
Especially from all the parents i know are out there.

Well, I took a mortage out on my insurance No, actually mine isn't bad at all. I'm over 25 with two def driving courses in three years, no tickets or accidents. I wish my CDL would help but it doesn't. I'm paying $1500/yr.~$500 deductable. (NY) Which isn't bad, but could be better. Good luck, I hope you get the best deal you can find

I wish they would make the CDL a federal license issued by the states. All safety courses including truck driving schools should be counted as driver's ed. for a discount. Especially if they pass the new law that they have to be accredited.

Because I have a CDL, I have to do the random drug testing. I can not be diabetic, and I have to have a full physical at least every two years. I think the insurance companies should consider these factors for us when it comes to a discount. Not to mention that a DUI or anything else is a death sentence for a CDL, even when not in the truck.

its different for each company. Progressive wanted 2k every six months from me sense I am 23 and I have one ticket but USAA only charges me 386 every six months as a second addition car.

I have two cars and my galant is my daily and my stang is set for low miles but maxed out insurance pay off but to my self. Sense I am in the military I dont need to insure my self while driving.

I am insured through USAA (better rates than most as far as I know), and not too long ago we received a pamphlet listing insurance for random cars. Surprisingly, they listed a 2007 Mustang GT. For an 18 year-old guy, with no tickets, no accidents, basically perfect record, it would be around $7000 a year to insure under full coverage. I don't know what my current insurance is though (I'm 18, perfect record) since my parents pay it, but it was basically the only factor between getting a V6 new or the GT new last summer.

It is ridiculous what they ask. Sure, we lack insurance, but most people are REALLY careful about their car, especially if it is a shiny new GT that their parents bought them. Personally, I would feel TERRIBLE if I damaged my car since my parents spent a lot on it for me, and it would be like letting them down with what they trusted to me, even if it wasn't my falt. I try to keep them involved in how the car is. Insurance needs better ways to judge drivers on a more personal basis.

How is that some thing was wrong. When I was 18 I drove a silverado with 700rwhp and told my insurance about EVERY mod it had to cover my butt and it was only 225 a month.

Yeah. Ridiculous....works out to $583/month. You also have to realize that is when it is under full, and it is probably in a special category just because it is a sports car where as a Silverado isn't...plus it was current model at the time.
