Default 2005 Mustang, Rear brake piston help

I am having trouble getting the caliper piston compressed on my 2005 Mustang. It is not going in. I have turned it clockwise with the bleeder open and fluid is coming out. But nothing is happening. Any tips will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I changed my pads on my 2007 v-6 for the first time recently. Front and rear. For the rear, you must keep the bleeder very open and you must turn the piston clockwise with a lot of twisting force or torque BUT DO IT VERY SLOWLY. The piston will screw in and as it does some brake fluid will come out. If you try to screw it too fast, it will not move. I used a pair of needle nose pliers. IMPORTANT, take the cap off of the brake fluid resevoir. Otherwise, the fluid might not move out too easily when you try to screw the piston in even if the bleeder is open. The system needs some air introduced on the other end to let the fluid out.

Good Luck.

Thanks for the tip. I have been spinning it pretty fast. I will give it a slow spin. I loosened the cap when I started. Thanks again

I just recently did the front and rears on my '06 v6 and had the same problem with the rears. Talked to a buddy who said a "caliper compression" tool was needed. Went to a local "Auto Zone" and was able to get the tool loaned to me. It's similar to your stander compression tool, with the exception that it also rotates the cylinder. No releasing of the bleeder need, which of course eliminates the need to bleed post installation. Once I got the tool, the rest was cake!

Good luck
