So tomorrow I am picking up my new 2005 convertible with V6. I know it has side air bags, ABS and rear spoiler and that this came in a package with traction control. Question: was traction control available with the 5 speed manual? Or just the automatic. Sorry if dumb question. Also, what is standard rear axle ratio on this car and does anyone have the individual gear ratios from 1st to 5th. I want to estimate rpm's in each gear and, especially, on the highway in 5th. Thanks for any info.

i think the rear end ratios on the v6 was 3.31s

I have traction control with the 5-speed. I think transmission ratios are 3.75, 2.19, 1.41, 1, and 0.72.

Traction control has saved me on many an occasion, but I can still burn out with no problems.

Thanks a ton guys. Sounds like with 3.31 rear and 3.75 first gear, plenty of that torque to the rear wheels in first......and that nice overdrive to quiet things down in cruise. Just like having 2.38 rear (if one existed) on a non overdrive transmission. This should yield me somewhere around 2,000 rpm's at 65 mph depending on my tire size. Great!
I had been wondering how the traction control system interacts with a manual transmission. Does it control engine speed to reduce slip or somehow actually intervene in the drive train rear of the engine? I have a whole lot to learn moving from a 60's muscle car with NO technology!!

I think it uses the ABS to sort of mimic a limited slip differential.

-TCS & ABS combo is an optional package both or nothing for manual and auto
-Yes the engine does lose power if you lose traction/hit a bump and the car thinks you lose traction
