I have a pdf article from 5.0 Magazine (March 06) and the JBA header and single exhaust netted 17hp at 5600rpm and 16.1lbs torque at 4300rpm. The majority of the gains were at the mid rpm range.

yes i know, i think the tune is the only thing that gave me any difference and even that is minimal, i had been in the midst of trading the v6 in for a GT as i posted but i have a new project for the v6 and this HAS to give me some gains..... its costing me 7 grand or more so it better
cant wait to be in the magazines haha

i believe so, im working with a guy who has been on pinks 3-4 times, hes now rich christensen's technical advisor, i was actually talking to the guy when rich called, lol
He's SCT certified and all that good crap so he can install and tune my car, im trying to find the best turbo for the money, a supercharger could easily be in my car by the end of the week but they just dont give me the power i want, a turbo just seems safer and delivers more power, gah its such a commitment

This is coming from a BIG v6 enthusiast. I always have and always will believe that the v6 has great potential because it does. With a few grand you CAN romp all over stock GT's and bolt-on GT's, but the power will top out far before a GT's would if you kept modding both. I also understand that the GT is a much more solid vehicle; less rattles and vibrations, no crappy tranny noise in 3rd gear, etc. Things like this can be important to some too.
I really can't believe i'm going to say this myself, as I loathe hearing it when other members say it to v6 owners or myself. If you're planning on keeping the vehicle more than a few years and have $7,000 to spend, go trade in for a GT model.
Unless you're planning on building a strictly track car (completely rebuilt from the ground up) I recommend trading up to a GT. In the long run you'll end up making more power with less hassle and still have options like super/turbo charging open if you're not happy.
In my eyes the GT is a much better platform to start from.

here's my problem, i bought the car brand new, it was a 6 year thing for $30,000, im only down to $20,000, the car is worth $18,000 if im lucky, i could sell it for alot higher through a private party but i really want to keep the stuff i have in my car and put it on a GT, that being said, i would have to put tires back on the stock rims because they were bald, i would have to take out my head unit, a dealership will want me to take off my headers, axle back, and intake, i would also have to tune it back to stock and get new tunes for the GT.
all of this and then i would be back at square one on a $24,000 GT, i understand i can get a GT for alot less but i dont want any more then 20,000 miles on it, i dont want someone elses problems basically.
my parents are paying for alot of this car and if they stop when im 20 (im 18 now) then i will be fine paying off the last 2 years but if i start over on a GT and have 4 years left on paying the thing i might be in some trouble. I honestly just want to keep the v6, i want to be the underdog and mod the crap out of this car, i have the money for it right now, its time to stop buying all the little crap like stupid chrome accessories and intakes, and just go big so a turbo is what im gonna do and i will not stop modding until im over 400 hp to the wheels and even then i might keep going

$30,000 is pretty steep for a v6 model. I bought in February '05 when it was still relatively difficult to find your personal favorite color combo on a lot and I only paid $21,800.
And the dealer wont care what axle-backs you've got. My neighbor just traded in his Scion tC with a full cat-back system and the dealer didnt ask him to change anything. Don't say anything about the headers and tune it back to 87 and noone would be the wiser. Stereos are easy too man, with wiring harness' these days all you have to do is unplug your new head unit w/ aftermarket harness on it and then replug your stock stereo. Reverse it for installation on the new car.

I've already kinda made up my mind, im gonna mod out this v6, you'll prolly see it somewhere, im not talking about it being the best v6 mustang ever but there have been some ehhh less then impressive cars in magazines, it's not out of the question to get my car in one, not to mention all the hustling im gonna be doing with a rear mount turbo
o as for the steep price on the v6, its the premium pony package and the 06 i have i got it in 05... so i had to wait 6 months for my car to come in because they didnt even offer my color combination and what not at that time, trust me its a NIICE car, i always get compliments I just dont get alot of compliments from people who see it run, they tell me its surprisingly quick for a 6 cylinder but... still a 6 cylinder.
I was told once by a bunch of import guys that i have the nicest looking mustang in town which i believe is true, everyone else just goes overboard on something whether it be 24 inch rims lol, too many lights, a huge spoiler, stickers, something and yet mine still has a clean appearance, once i get everything rolling you guys will get pictures and videos. Money isnt a real issue but it is when it comes to buying a car because im making a couple year commitment of having money by a certain time, with mods i can just save up and spend as i please
