Default Warranty question

Hello all,

I just purchased my first Mustang (2008 V6). I'm thinking about changing the muffler to a less restrictive one. Can anyone tell me if this will void the warranty. Do I have to take it to the dealer to have it installed? Thanks for any advice.

If you can put the exhaust on yourself youdll save a few bucks. If not just hit up your local muffler shops. They can do it relatively cheap and it shouldnt take more than and hour or so depending on the set up. Dont take it to the stealership unless you like giving money away. It shouldnt void anything warranty wise.

The only thing that will be voided is the muffler warranty.

Default GT mufflers?

When I go to the GT Takeoff website the only thing that comes up is two mufflers for a GT model and I have a V6. Will one of those work on my car. It is a great price. Thanks for your advice.

Default Tune?

Jimmy,

I've heard a lot about tuning here. Is there any tuning taht has to be done after this muffler replacement, or can I just have it installed and go? Please forgive my "newbie-ness"

no tuning required with the muffler.
I purchased a set when I went to duals. I cant remeber if there is a right side and left side with the mufflers. Once you get em you can always sell the other one.

I went with JBA shorty headers, cat bac duals without doing the tune,no problem

You usually have to buy both left and right. I just replaced my stock V6 muffler with the right GT muffler and it was a great change. The left one is sitting in my basement for now. Easy to do in your garage without even jacking the car up.

Default HP

Does the GT Takeoffs give you more power and less restriction than stock?

They're not TOO loud are they. I dont want to piss off my neighbors or not be able to hear my stereo.

they are exactly what your looking for, they arent all that loud and they are alot less restrictive, if anything they might not be loud enough for you

Default Thanks

Thanks everyone. I appreciate all the good advice (and patience). I think I'll go with the takeoffs as advised. Take care.
