Default Rear turn signal issues....

Ok, here's my issue. A few weeks ago, my left rear turn signal started blinking faster (I know someone reading this is thinking "bulb!" right now, so did I). Being the procrastinator that I am, I didn't get around to it for a few days, and miraculously, it fixed itself. So a few days later, I'm turning right, and notice it's on the right side now.
A day or so later, this too corrects itself and now it's back on the original left side.
I'm hoping maybe someone has had this issue before so I don't have to go trying to chase down a short in the wiring. It has to be something that effects both the right and left turn signals. Loose wire perhaps?
Any suggestions or advise is appreciated.

Since it's not a blown bulb I would suspect a short or possibly even a loose bulb. When it happens, have you checked to see if all four corners are blinking?

Fronts arer fine. All taillights work when the headlights are on. But if I try the blinkers with the tailights on, one on the right doesn't blink, and two on the left don't blink. Maybe I'm just unlucky and had 3 bulbs burn out the same phase at once. Gonna replace bulbs this afternoon and see.

That's the cheapest place to start. If that doesn't do it, I'm afraid you may have a short somewhere.

Changed all three bulbs. They work fine again, but one of the sockets has really bad scorch marks on it, so I'll just have to wait and see if it happens again.
