Default 2008 V6 Manual Trasmission

Hi guys,
I been reading some threads about tanny nioses in grear and so. Well I experance some clanks when shifting 1st to 2nd grears, sometimes they do not shift smooth. Anyway I was underneath the car checking the drive shaft, there is a play in the end where the pinion meets the ring gear at the diff. There has to some play, but when you trun the shaft by hand back and fort it makes same clank noise. Dealer says this is normal on these cars. I want to ask you those of like 05 or 06 which experance same nosies did it come to be a problem and ended in need of repairs, or just stayed like that.
Thanks for any input.

Yes it's normal for some slop in the drivetrain. It's there to prevent damage. Yeah, it's annoying but it's something you have to adjust to. A lightweight aluminum driveshaft will reduce some of the noise.
