Default In need of V6 valve covers

Recently noticed the oil filler spout on my baby is broken. Looks like the last time the oil was changed, it may have been cracked. As you know, the filler is molded to the valve cover, hence the valve cover will need to be replaced. $149 for the one cover from the dealer.

Anyone have any links for aftermarket covers for the V6. All I seem to be pulling up are for the GT.

Thanks,
Chaz

Clean it good with brake parts cleaner. Rough it up with some 80 grit sandpaper. Then JB Weld it. If it needs to look good, smooth it out and paint over it.

thanks for the input. It's not really a crack, though. There's a piece broken off of the rim of the filler tube. I'll get some pix on the site later today. I was thinking of some sort of repair for it, but it's got a decent size chunk missing from the top of the filler tube.

Doesn't appear to be leaking at all, but I know it will just get worse.

Once again, thanks for the input. Any and all are appreciated.

Thanks for the input.

I was considering some sort of repair for this, but it's more of a broken off piece, rather than a crack. A significant piece has been broken off of the filler tube. I'll get some pics on the site later tonight.

Once again, thanks for the input. Any and all opinions are appreciated!!!

You might still be able to use JB Weld. You can get it in a putty form, so it's easy to mold. I've used it in some places where I didn't think it would work, and it holdes up just fine.

The "missing chunk" is on the filler tube where the cap is placed. A piece of the rim is broke off directly beneath the oil cap. I'll get pix up tonight after work.

Still can't find any aftermarket valve covers for the 6.

Just take the filler tube off and install the oil cover direct on the valve cover.

So your saying, cut off the four inch filler tube and somehow noch it so the cap fits directly onto the valve cover?

Just want to make sure I get you right.

The filler tube is molded to the cover.

Trying to upload a crappy image as we speak.

Thanks for the input.
