Ford Racing Suspension Components Ok I thought I would do a little write up on my newest purchase for Ponyexpress. I ordered from Latemodelrestoration.com a nice suspension setup after touching feeling everything out there I setteled on Ford Racing mainly because it was what Shelby used and I liked the feel of it on the car I drove. Ok so I ordered Springs #M-5300-N (159.95) these are setup for V-6 only because of a weight differance in the GT and Sway bar kit #M-5490-A (379.95). Well the springs looked good Ford Blue powder coated and had rubber tubeing covering the ends where they mount. Then it was on to the sway bars and wow was I in for a shock the front bar was Steeda's with the 3 adjustments on the end but it was larger than the one the sell 1 3/8" vs 1 1/4" it looks wonderfull also came with all new hardware this will be important later and lube for the blood red poly bushings and a grease zerk I thought Ford forgot what these looked like (whish we had one on our lower ball joints). So we move out back and holy crap the links are a huge chunk of Billet Alluminum no flex here and the bar is a full 7/8" nice size but for me it was that there in the kit was all the bolts you need to mount it to a virgin rear end (one that never had a sway bar mounted to it for you sico's out there you know who you are). The instructions were very complete and install is a breeze. Once we clear some weather here I will let you all know how much better she handles. This kit is the same one used on the FR500 race car btw.
