As some people here have commented, the manual trans in the V6 is kinda noisy. It certainly makes more noise than the automatic I rented.

Has anyone tried a differant fluid? Mercon V compatable oils like Valvoline are readily available. Do they change anything?

And what about an oil additive? I read on an "Ask the Experts" forum that adding Lucas Oil additive is a good idea. But I'm generally against oil additives in the engine. Has anybody tried this?

lucas is the greatest invention since the 5.0 push rod engine install lucas motor oil stabalizer in your engine and install the motor oil stabalizer in your manual tranny will quiet that trans down like you wouldnt belive and will mix with the atf in your manual tranny i run it in all my cars regardless
