Default 56k and she blew a cylinder assembly.....

....or least that's what the dealer called it. Basically, a slave cylinder/throwout bearing assembly.

So the wifey, my youngest son and I are driving home last night. We stop to get gas when I noticed I had forgotten my wallet. When I tried to put her in gear, I notice my clutch pedal was going to the floor with no resistance. I was able to get it into gear one more time and get her out of everyone's way. By this time the clutch pedal was just flopping around like it's prescription for viagra had not been filled. Yes, definitely a limp noodle, lol.

Called a tow truck and had her ride piggy-back back to the house. It was then I noticed the leaking fluid

So, needless to say, I had her up today and pulled the tranny. Found the cylinder assembly in disarray.

Was able to pick one up from the dealer.

My question??? Is there a special tool needed to properly bleed the cylinder assembly??? I just can't seem to get a good turn on it!

Thanks

It's supposedly a self bleeding system. Pump/hold/pump/hold repeat as needed.

+1. self bleeding. thats how my ford truck was too. my first one lasted longer than yours, but i didnt run the truck hard either. then after that i swear i had to replace it about every 50-70k. then the last year i had it 2nd and reverse gears went out and that cost a bundle for the mazda trans. i had that truck for 14 years, 310k miles when i sold it. thats why i bought a auto. i had enough of that.
