Default I'm Trying To Decide Between Two Different Superchargers.

Hey there, I just joined because I just bought my Mustang 2 days ago (pic forthcoming).

While I'm still deciding between supercharger, turbo, or twin turbo ... I think I've narrowed down the two superchargers I'm looking at. I mostly do street driving for day to day stuff in Las Vegas, and that has affected my decision.
I know the X-Charger is fairly popular on these boards, but I haven't seen anything on the Steeda. I was hoping to get your guys' opinion on which of the two you think would be best for my needs. If you have another suggestion, I would love to here that as well.

I know there are superchargers that aren't the best for those of us who rarely get to open it up ... that's why I chose these two.

Also, what would you recommend I do to maximize performance after I install the supercharger? Thanks guys.

Keep in mind that with the uncooled X-charger you'll be limited on boost.

It works just fine (6-8 psi) and the intercooler will be out this summer. Steeda is using the X charger now in the QS6

Headers and dual exhaust will help after the install. Aluminum drive shaft, gears, etc. The same rules pretty much apply after FI as before, except you're making a lot more power.

Default Thanks

Thanks guys. I'm going to wait for the intercooled X-Charger to decide which one I want to compare to a twin turbo. If you guys have any opinions as to the supercharger vs twin turbo I'd appreciate it. Regular turbo has too much lag time for me, but the twin should be ok. Plus the twin turbo sounds great!

ok..

the steeda magnacharger doesn't exist for the V6... it would appear to be a typo on their website...

twin turbo.... there is no kit available... you would have to do a custom job... $$$$

Single turbo from Powerhouse has NO LAG! It is properly sized and is a killer!

I'm not as optimistic as my friend GrayPony... they are still prototyping the intercooler for X... I seriously doubt you'll be able to by one this summer... also it will more than like not work with a stock hood... there simply is not enough room! So now your looking at $$$ for a cowl hood...

However you could do a water/meth kit with the X-charger...

I'll take a look at Powerhouse if it has no lag. I have seen some custom twin turbos that are just damn sexy. I can't remember the site, but I ran across a company that is due to release a twin turbo for the V6 this year. Are you sure the Steeda is not for a V6? I've seen that same product advertised on several sites ... not just theirs.

Think about Roush.
1. Will not void your warranty
2. There are smaller aftermarket pulleys to up
the PSI.

if your looking at a turbo system i would suggest that you check out the Squires Turbo Systems - Mustang V6 what kind of power gains are you looking for? these system are one of a kind its a remot mount system. so it looks as if your not running a turbo under the hood but rather under the trunk. the power gain for a v6 with 5psi is 84hp and with 9 psi its 147hp over stock. check it out

Now I know Roush doesn't have a supercharger for the 4.0L... LOL

No Roush, Saleen, KB, or Whipple. As far as positive displacement, I think it's either the X-charger or Magnacharger.
