Ok here goes. I recently put my stock shifter back in because my hurst was a vibrating pos. Well now i got my stocker back in and is doing something it never did before, besides having slop in it, which it had before it doesnt seem to engage fully into 3rd and 5th gear. It goes in with no problem but if you just wiggle it a little bit it comes right out. Because of this, whether you may be on a rough road that jostles the car or maybe just driveline vibration, it comes out of the gate and neutrals and you find yourself revving in neutral. I thought maybe the first time this happened, it was a fluke, now that it has repeatably happened, something its definately wrong. Also if you look on the stock shifter under the boot, the shaft has a flat side and an offset side. Which side goes where? Cause i might have it backwards. Any help is appreciated. O and all the bolts are tight.

This article starts with a picture of them side by side. You should be able to tell if you did it backwards (it looks impossible.) Maybe there is some adjustment in the linkages?
