Default Rust on Exhaust Tip, How to Clean off? 2006 Mustang V6

I have a stainless steel exhaust tip on my 2006 V6 and it has accumulated a decent amount of rust on the top of the pipe. Does anyone know a good method to clean that off with out scratching the rest of the pipe and getting back to looking new?

I'd have to question if it's actually stainless steel. Is it an aftermarket tip?

Yeah, It is an aftermarket tip. I just bought the car used so i don't know the manufacturer or any real spec for the tip but it looks like it is stainless.

Sounds like it's chrome. I've heard good things about Evapo Rust

I don't think its stainless steel. STL is most likely right because for a stainless steel muffler to rust it needs to get chipped or damaged.

WD-40 and some really fine steel wool. Should give it a nice polish, remove the rust, and help protect it all at the same time.
