Default Installing Flowmaster A/T

Okay, so I received the Flowmaster A/T, it looks like a pretty simple install, except the instructions say "we strongly recommend welding all slip-fit connections".

Well, I'm not a welder, so does this mean I should just let a shop do it? It looks like the stock muffler is welded, but I'm tempted to just install it without welding, does it really matter?

Naa ya dont have to weld it, I think they just put that on all of their products. Its not a matter of making it "idiot proof" because unless 2 of the hangers are left off or very obviously loose, its not going anywhere. Watch the knuckles.

Welding?

What a crock of ****.

Cram that thing on there and clamp the **** out of it!

Disclaimer: Snug it up but dont clamp it too hard or you might misshape the pipe a bit. Even if you do its no big deal.

No need to weld, I used the stock clamp because it seemed sturdier also. The one flowmaster sends seems kinda iffy.

+1... The Flowmaster clamps are horrible. Use the OEM band clamps.

Well guys, I installed it. No... I installed the **** out of it. That little ring-clamp didn't know what he had coming.

Results: pretty noisy with the windows rolled down, very deep bass. Not so bad with the windows up. On the highway it's pretty quiet.

Pedal to the metal, it sounds like a real beast, but what I love most is the idle.

I sound really fast now.
