Does this mean I need 17" wheels or will it still work with the factory 16"
this is a gt take off i was thinking of purchasing but the description is as follows: DMS complete description:
2005-08 GT Coupe Front Strut 17” Wheels R/L
Mustang 2005-2008 GT Rear Shocks 17” Wheels
Stabilizer Bar Front Mustang 05-08 GTStabilizer Bar Rear Mustang 05-08 Coupe & Convertible with Link & Bushings
but it says it fits v6 05+
can i keep my factory wheels and this kit will still fit?
I know for a fact you can use the sway bars with 16's because i've got them on my car right now and they kick ass.
Logically you should be able to use the rest of that stuff with no problem too since its from a stock GT. If other stock GT's can run 18's, 19's, 20's even as high as 22's, then you should have no problem putting them on your car and running 16's.
But this car really does look better with at least a 17 inch wheel. Most people like 18 better, but I think 17 leaves plenty of room for big rubber and still gives you a good chunk of metal in your wheel well.

i plan on eventually going for 17s or 18s, i just wanted to make sure it would work with my stock 16s before i went and tore everything apart just to find out i cant use it,

The V6 has more turn-to-lock ratio than a GT becuase the V6 16 inch tire is not as wide as the 17 GT.
If you go to a 17 or 18 be sure it isnt too wide or you'll be rubbing the tire when you turn.
Also, when you go to 17 inch rims you have the opportunity to upgrade to the GT rotors. The calipers and pads are the same between the V6 and GT, however, you will need to buy the larger GT caliper brackets for the upgrade..

If the kit includes front and rear strut/shocks, there is not much difference, if any, between the V6 and GT items. Unless the ones on your car are deficient or defective in some way, it may not be worth the difference in price. Sway bars are a a definite "Go": make a useful difference.
The only proscription is the one mentioned by ON EZstreet: the GT brakes won't fit within the 16-inch wheels.
Seems to me you'll eventually upgrade everything under there: springs, shocks/struts, wheels, tires. I believe the GT shocks/struts are not really an upgrade from the V6 parts.
cool . . gt take off sway bars, aluminum drive shaft, 8.8 inch rear end, 4.10 gears, t loc, c&l CAI with Xcal 3 tuner with bamachips tune and a flowmaster or gt take off muffler, maybe even an underdrive pully kit . . hows that sound for a goal, and thats just performance wise . . it may be small but however small its what i may afford
