ok just a few days ago ive been hearing some weird ticking noise coming from were it sounds like were the engine and tranny meet or at least near the rear of the motor now it does sound like the injectors but this ticking is not the same sound but close......Now i took the car into the dealer (Since warranty is still active but barely) and they also can hear the noise, now before i even took it to the dealer i have a Fleet Mgr Mechanic buddy of mine just take a quick look at it and with just a few moments listening to it he gave his opionion and said it could be the injectors, so once the dealer finally called me letting me know they actually had to call FORD and have one of there technicians come out to see wuts going on, just like normal they said theres nothing wrong (Typical Dealer Reply) and that the noise is coming from the Intake were like the air dissapaits or w/e term he used now my question is has anyone else had this problem with there 06 V6 and if so wut what the outcome or problem (if they found any) and wuz it fixed, now ive had my car going on 3 yrs now (Bought in Oct-05) it barely has 16.2k miles on it so its still very much like new (barely broken in) and now this noise pops up which is annoying so let me know if anyone has ran into this problem and if theres a Fix to it thanks
John.

My Car did/ still does it. Does the sound accelerate when you press the gas but drops when it changes gears as if has something to do with your gears? Like the tempo is in time with how fast your going. And can you only get it to make the sound when you slightly press on the gas and hold it there? Thats how my car was, and i had the whole team of mechanics on it, it took them more then a week to find it, but they told me it was the idler pulley. I It did calm the noise down after they replaced it, for a while anyway. But now its back. Ive also noticed when i turn on the air conditioner i cant hear the tick as much, maybe its getting muffle by the sound of the compressor, i dont know, but im about to bring it back to ford again. ME, i think its something to do with my transmition and ford just doesnt feel like fixing it under warranty. But i honestly dont know all that much about cars. When its done getting fixed i let you know what they figured out. Keep me posted on what you find out.
does the ticking noise come out right away as soon as you start your car 1st thing in the morning or only after sometime when the engine has warmed up?
coz i suspect it's the exhaust pipe or muffler, or anything that has got to do with the exhaust system. the ticking sound is metal "expanding" due to heat and "contracting" when cooling down. it's a certain material's reaction to heat. some even keep on ticking for as long as the engine is running. nothing serious or life threatening here hehe...it's just annoying
