Hello, my 07 stang was in a front end collision and while removing the radiator, ac condensor, and fan, i discovered the tranny fluid cooler and being the idiot I am drove it into the garage like it was. Needless to say I lost some tranny fluid and now im told it is a sealed tranny and the dealer has to add tranny fluid. Well I was just wondering if there is a way I can add tranny fluid at my house, at least enuff to where I can drive my car to a dealer without ruining the tranny, it is slipping. if anyone has any ideas let me know. I bought the Haynes book for the Mustang, and also was talking to a mechanic at a transmission shop today to confirm what they said. Basically, the drain plug on the transmission has another plug in the center of it. You add fluid and use it to determine if the fluid is filled as it is connected to a tube in the drain pan. They tell you to pump transmission fluid, make sure it is only the special Mercon V fluid, into this connection. You will need to get a hose adapter to scew into the center tap and connect a hand pump or electric pump to the hose fitting. When you think you have added enough, disconnect the hose, if you are underfilled, nothing will come out, if you are overfilled then fluid will come out until it drains down to the top of the tube in the transmission. Make sure the car is level when you do this or all bets are off... LOL. It is a pain that they did not stick with the old dip stick style procedure, but the transmission mechanic told me that they were copying what was done on the Mercedes and other cars... Progress.. sometimes I wish they would leave well enough alone.. LOL. When removing the center plug, make sure you hold back on the drain plug with an open end or box wrench, or you may end up removing the drain plug and will drain the entire transmission fluid that is in the pan, rather than just checking to see if it is full. When changing the filter, you will be draining the pan so this will be a mute point until adding the new fluid back in when you have buttoned up the pan.

Hope this helps you with your questions... in your case, you might have to add fluid, run the engine and just cycle the transmission through reverse, neutral and drive, then check the fluid again to see that it is full... Not easy and not fun... blame it on the Engineers and their bright ideas... LOL
