Default Can anything disolve oxidized battery acid?

So my car and I had a falling out.... she didn't want to start.
I tried a few turns of the key to no avail, then popped the hood.
The entire negitave terminal was corrodded over, and full of the
light green crap that was caked onto the terminal. I spent a good 2
hours with my dad trying to clear it, and for the most part it looks
better, but is there any solution or cleaning liquid that I can use
next time to save me the hours of work? Something that might break
down the crap so my screwdriver doesen't have to?

a wire wheel will take it off very fast but use a brass one you can put it on a drill and it will be off in seconds. also pour coke a cola on it the acid in the coke will dissolve the crap and help protect it for a little while

Baking soda and water solution (like a paste) will help. Baking soda nuetralises the acid. Get as much of the solids off you can then a tooth brush and soda,,,,even wd40 works afterwards to slow the new groth,,check the tighness of the connections to..
just another option

Default Grease

Once they're clean put some Vaseline on them so they don't corrode again.

they make stuff in a can that foams on the terminal, cleans off the corosion and then u flush it with water. afterwords put some battery terminal sealer on it also available in a spray can. works pretty good.

Like Steve8108 said, a can of Coca Cola (gotta be coke, pepsi doesn't work near as good) will do a great job of cleaning the crud off. It's an old trick that runs back at least 60 yrs and probably more.

Default this works also

use vinegar it neutralizes the acid and wont leave a sticky mess, squirt some PB blaster on it, it will help to not corrode

I'll have to relabel it and sell it for $10 an ounce on ebay.
