Hi guys, i was wondering if a Cadillac STS borla exhaust system works with my Mustang. Its a 07 V6. heres the sample pic http://www.borla.com/media/prod_imag...rge/140178.jpg
I want to just buy the muffler itself not the whole kit, because a friend of mine has one and i dont want to spend too much money on it buying a brand new. I can buy the muffler and go to a local muffler shop to do a custom mandrel bent for me and keep my cats, im not sure if they can do X or H pipe (btw which one is better X or H?). Also do you think this tip would look nice on a Mustang? I had one for my Daytona and it was awesome but for Mustang dual exhaust, i dont know if it would fit under the V6 bumper. as long as this pipe size is the same it will work. Are you talking about running true dules? Cuz if not then I have no idea why you are even thinking about an x pipe or an h pipe. If so, I personally would go with an X pipe. I dont know the actual ups and downs to the two if there are even any, but in my mind you would think that the X pipe would have less resistance, so it would flow faster and better, and the faster you can get the exhaust out the faster you can get the fuel in and the faster you can go. But like I said thats just me.
Yeah i want to go true duals. I did a edit in photoshop to see how the tip would look in my Mustang, anyone likes it? Does it look unique and good or is it like camaro, corvette.

personally i don't like those tips on the mustang. but it's not that bad, if u like it do it. according to other threads th H pipe is the best for our cars, for power and sound. but i don't know if there is a huge difference between the two. heres the x pipe h pipe thread. http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...l-exhaust.html

Thanks, I like those STS Borlas but he told me its too big for mustang and it may not fit. I havnt looked down there but is there room for a bit bigger muffler than stock or GT ones? If i get the mufflers then i dont even need the tips, its like GT but its not perfect circle, the tips are oval shape.
is the muffler itself too big or is the tip too big for the hole in the bumper? measure it and then measure your stock one and also see how much room there is down there. a good exhaust shop might be able to make it work, the main thing is, if the muffler has a 2 1/2" inlet.

I'll see whats the diameter on the inlet for it. The tip should be fine, i was wondering if the muffler is too big, but as you said if the inlet is 2.5" a good muffler shop should be able to pull it off. I'll give you more info soon.
Ford Racing has a lot of cash and man-hours tied up in research to give the customer the best dual exaust for the performance and price. It will cost you some dinero ($$$), but it's the one and it will "bolt up" without much or any fabrication. Sorry if I sound like an ad for the dealers. My dealer is very responsive to his customers and I have had very good luck and satisfaction with the many Ford Racing parts I've bought over the last twenty years.

so are you saying if I go to ford dealer that i bought my car from they can do the job for me? I know dealer are more expensive than regular muffler shop but if they can do the job it would be nice, but do they already have the ford racing exhaust with them or they have to order it?
Check out Pypes they have a new kit that is duals for V6 along with Magna flow or you could buy a GT takeoff add a pypes X pipe and a couple of magnaflow muffs and have true duals. That's the combo I run. the pypes system is the least expensive, I also have JBA hdrs, C&L CAI with a 87 tune and dyno'd 214 rwhp and 253 rwtq. X charger is on the way.
Thnx for the site, yeah they have some good stuff, what you think about the Flowmaster American thunder, i think its pretty good muffler with nice tone.
