I got stuck with this thing when I first got my '06. The guy I got my CAI from told me I needed to retune and the Diablo Predator tuner would work with it. It didn't work at all with that CAI but did work good with the stock air box. I had to do SCT and a dyno to get that CAI to work right which was another $800.00. I paid over $400.00 for the Diablo and I can't seem to get rid of this damn thing.
I advertised on ebay, on here, and craigslist several times. I'm asking a fair price for it, but I still can't get rid of it.
I don't appreciate paying over 400 for something I don't need and then not being able to get rid of it for a fraction of what I paid.
Are these things just unliked. Does anybody use these?
On ebay they are selling for 300 bucks. I bought mine for that a while back. Don't forget to reflash back to stock when you sell it because it won't work for the next person if you don't.

How much are you trying to sell it for? They look like they're $370 on the Diablosport site. I already have one, and am happy with it. I used it to install the C&L CAI tune, but that's about it.
Honestly, if you're looking for anything over $250 - $300 for it, you may be asking too much, especially since it's been used.

I meant to respond a week ago, but I'm busy with school and everything else.
Anyway, I havn't asked a penny over that much in all the dozen times I've advertised it for the last year. I even offered to cover the insured shipping to one guy, but he never got back to me on it. If you've recently seen it on ebay for 300, that was probably my ad.
I'm not trying to sell it on this forum. I've had it on AFM's classifieds before and you guys confirmed the right price that I've been tryi ng to get for it all this time.
Besides the economy, I really just want to know why I can't get rid of mine.
I've loaded the stock tune back into my car for the SCT and put all the custom tuning back into the Diablo, so it's ready for someone else.
It is good to read that people are happy with them. I really like the SCT better, although it is significantly more expensive.
your situation with the predator makes no sense. all you should have done was get a custom tune specific for your particular intake which would have ran between $50-$75. the custom tune would have been MUCH better than the default tunes that come preloaded in the programmers, SCT or Diablo. well at least you got ur car tuned now, good luck.
One specific tune just for that CAI wouldn't have served my long-term purposes. Since then, I've done other mods and the SCT was perfect for that. It has no custom tunes in it. It's the one that requires a dyno everytime and custom updated everytime I add something. When I got the Diablo, it was because someone who didn't know much about these cars told me it would work and it would be the best I can get. I didn't know much of anything at that time, so I thought he knew a lot.
I've gotten a lot more selective about who I get advice from because in that first year of owning my first Mustang I spent more monet than I needed to. Like this tuner for example.
i see. what specific mods do you have that were not compatible with the diablo? was it the tuner shop that didnt support diablo and only SCT? if so, that makes a lot more sense.
i have a predator and i'm just curious on what my limitations are. i've currently been getting all my support through BamaChips. Haven't visited an actual tuner shop yet since there hasnt been a need to thus far.
At the time, the MAC Performance CAI wasn't compatible. I called Diablo, and still have their # in my cell, asking about the tune for it. The guy said there was no tune for MAC. I don't know if they ever got one.
I experimented with the C&L and Steeda tunes, but those lit the wrench and check engine lights. My engine was running lean, so the SCT was the only choice since the shop I like works only with the SCT. I did find a shop that works with the Diablo, but their customer service at the front counter was crappy. The guy just wasn't interested in working with me on anything. Later, I've heard other people mention their dissatisfaction with that same place.
I also got the Granetelli throttle body later and that was a hassle to get tuned right. I doubt any pre-programmed tune could have made that work.
