Those are 26.1 inches in diameter. What were the previous tires? If they were larger in diameter, the new ones should give slightly better gear ratio for acceleration. If the old ones were smaller in diameter, the gear ratio change is in the other direction.

A standard GT tire like the Pirelli PZero Nero M&S 235-55-17 is 27.1 inches.

A standard V6 BFG 215-65-16 tire is 26.8 inches.

Which stock tires were those? In any case, the 26.1-inch new tires are smaller in diameter than either the BFG 16s or the Pirelli 17s, and should result in potential for slightly better acceleration.

Question remains: does the greater weight of the new wheel/tire combination (ver the 16s) cancel the slightly better gear ratio? The 17-inch Pirelli combo probably weighs the same as the new one.

I don't think any gains or losses would really be perceptible.

What does the numbers mean? 235-55-17? I know the 17 is the wheel size, but the other first two numbers?

Simply, the big number is the distance between sidwalls of the inflated tire (235 mm, section width); the middle number is the ratio of the height of the sidewall to that width (55%, aspect ratio).
