I can't mod my Mustang so I'm going to mod my Miata!
My dads been getting pissed about me putting mods on my Mustang because I have a 6 year warranty on the car. Even though I am paying for it, he doesn't want me to ruin the warranty lol. Soooo I decided to make my 1991 limited edition Mazda into a monster miata.
So your dad wont let you put bolts ons on your Mustang but he'll let you take your Miata apart completely and make modifications to it that could potentially render the car completely useless?

It actually depends on what type of mods you are wanting to put on your mustang. Certain mods don't actually void your warranty. As far as I know, lowering springs, exhaust, and intake are a few that won't void the warranty. then again you can run across a dealer like my brother-in-law did that doesn't mind if your car is modded, and doesn't check to see if you have tuned you car. That's the one thing that will completely void you warranty. Even if you return the stock tune before you take it to a dealer, they can still check to see if it has been tuned.
Sucks big time.
My advice would be to make friends with someone from a Ford dealership and find out what can be done that does not void warranty.
Happy hunting with the monster miata...

forget S/C that "Monster Miata" find you a 302 or 306 from an old foxbody or 94-95 GT, good upper/lower intake manifolds, heads, decent cam, run some long tubes with dumped mufflers, and build the 8.8 rear end but shortened with the money you would have spent on the S/C system. if there's extra after that. just throw some nitrous on that *****!
Drive the hell out of your car until the warranty is gone and then your Dad wont be able to tell you anything.
My warranty was 3 years/36,000 miles and I hit 36,000 miles after only a year and a half of owning the car. Then again, nobody tells me what to and not to do with MY car.
Warranty? For what: So I can go to the dealer and they can play f-me games until i'm frustrated enough to take it to a real shop and get it fixed? No thanks, i'll just skip the bullshit and take it to a mechanic who's worth his mettle.

Dont do it just stock pile money till the warranty is up and then mod the stang away. Be honest what would you rather do put money into a miata or a mustang the choice is easy in my opinion just be patient and wait. I too have a 6 year warranty on my mustang when i bought the car new it only came wit ha 3 year so I upgraded to 6 for peice of mind. When my warranty is up I then will start to do performance mods.
