Default FRPP dual system install........

I have a 2005 v-6 with a JBA axle-back now...and want the FRPP dual system....went by my local muffler shop & owner suggested a Flowmaster system with dual tips...he said setup sounded as good as FRPP and cost $399 installed.....have only heard good things about FRPP system though...except cost...$599 plus install....does anyone out there have any experience with the Flowmaster mufflers??? MY JBA sounds decent now but has that ricey sound at high RPM's...don't want that with the Flows.....is the Ford system worth the extra cost??? and who has the best deal on-line with the FRPP system?? thanks for a reply..........

This decision is as easy as you let it be.

Adding duals of any kind will not increase performance in proportion to the cost. It isn't worth it if HP or TORQUE is your goal.

You might like a different muffler's sound better than what you have. If you are willing to pay for that, keep trying alternatives. For fifty dollars you can test the ordinary GT takeoff; many users rate it highly. I was happy with mine for more than a year.

"Dual tips" is just that: a single exhaust with two outlets, one on each side. If symmetrical rear aspect is your goal, that's a decent answer.

I have the FRPP dual conversion kit. I can't detect any big performance improvement in more than twenty drag race passes. I do like the sound, stereo back there, and I lke knowing the rear view is now symmetrical. I also like knowing there is quality Fordie hardware under there, likely to last as long as I'm interested in the car.

I'd still be running the GT takeoff if Dubya hadn't given me a rebate to throw away.

Pays you money and makes you choice.
