despite what i thought, the new V6's (auto to be specific) definitely sound better to me without cats with an H-pipe (Prochamber on the 6 i've dealt with specifically). and quite honestly, i turned the car on with long tubes and off-road prochamber, and my buddy and i both were amazingly surprised how much like a V8 it sounded. i think as long as emissions aren't a problem, definitely go catless, and just turn them off with your handheld tuner
Ok I was just talking to a guy that use to work on custom set-ups for exhaust systems. His teacher was the man that created the exhaust system for the rx8. He said if you take the cats out you will get better gas mileage. Is that true? I don't have a strickt emistions law here. When I get my set up put on I might just get them to cut the cats right out. They will have to do some custom stuff any way.
if the cats are gone, your CEL will come on. with that, the motor what really know what to do sometimes as it's seeing that the catalytic converters are not doing their jobs and tries to adjust the fuel into the motor to help out with the "emissions" part of it
