Default MRT exhaust on a 2008 V6 Mustang?

Got a quick question for you guys. When I bought my mustang I had no intention of doing anything to the exhaust system. Now, after finding this MTR muffler, I may have different views. Any of you know anything about this or have any experience with them?

Which one? The MaxThunder or the Aero Turbine? Several have tried the Aero Turbine and weren't too happy.

i have the aero turbine and i love it. the quality of the welds are great and i couldnt be happier, well maybe if i had duals haha. i chose the aero turbine over the max thunder because im not a huge fan of the raspy noise that two chambered mufflers make. just my .02.

Not trying to steal the post. Just looking for help.

I too have a question about the max thunder axleback. Has anyone found an improvement performance wise with this exhaust? Also, I am looking to get the C&L/SCT X3 combo from Bamachips and I want an axleback muffler (with good sound and as much performance as possible). I am just having a hard time deciding because I have searched sooooo many other posts on the forum about exhaust that I think I am confusing myself.

If anyone has another suggestion for a good axleback with more than decent performance and great sound please help me out.

Thanks

Mike

From what I understand, there is little to no difference between the popular after market axlebacks.

Interesting.

I've heard the aero turbine and thought it was aptly named.

Sounded really high-pitched (actually hurt my ears when videotaping from behind).

I'm assuming you are referencing the "interior" sound?

Haven't heard these from inside the cabin, maybe they sound different...

Actually, all the exhausts are "raspy" on the V6 at some RPM range...

As long as you like it, rock on!

Anybody up for a "get together" in New England for an "Exhaust Roundup" in 2009?

Get all sorts of ponies with different exhaust setups and make identical sound videos. I even have a dB meter for technical proof of how loud each setup is. LOL

I could post them on my website and it may help folks decide...

I hope you realize you're flirting with disaster here. Part of the Mustang tradition, if not the First Commandment, is "Ignore the science, take my word for it, if you don't your (sic) wrong and what's more you suck". You mess with that and you'll get nastygrams from around the world.

On the other hand, it would be a real challenge to do a solid experiment/survey with real measurements and controlled-condition observations and ratings. Your "get together" would have to be structured, and last a few days, to generate anything more than more of the same: opinions and he-said, he-said.

Nice idea, though. Lemme know how it turns out ...

i like the sound of my aero turbine from the inside, i havent really heard it much on the outside, but some of my friends(big v8 fans lol) say it sounds a little ricey in the top end.
