The results are in, manually shifting the auto is about a half second faster than having it Drive.

In "D".

Manually shifting.

In the second video I idled at about 2k RPMs before launching, that may have helped a bit, because it felt like a good launch. Come to think of it, I shouldn't have done that because now I don't have a good comparison.

Just to let you know launching above 1000 rpm is can do some serious damage to your car. And just to get back to the start of the thread, a convertable will usually run a little slower 0-60 then a coupe. Also you have to consider alot of outside factors, weather/road conditions, your tires and tread, how much weight you have in your car, engine being broke in ect..

Oh and bill have you put the s/c on yet?

idk if this helps, but i have a program on my ipod touch that gives you accurate 0-60 times, and with the AC running i ran a 6.25 0-60 time. the margin for error for the program is about 0.02+-

Are you talking to me about the s/c ? if so.....I have a bonus coming in Nov and I plan to have it installed then. I'm going to stripe it and put a chin spoiler and shelby rear spoiler at that time as well. If I don't run out of dough, I plan on getting and installing the 8.8 posi (3.73's) at that time as well. I will have about 3 g's to work with, I figure 1 g for the rear, 1500 for the vortech install and the stripes and spoiler will have to be a toss up for which one I can get.
if you weren't talking to me, then sorry for the vomit of info.
