Default looking for power upgrades 06 4.0

I just traded off my 90 gt for a 06 pony car and am looking for upgrades that would mesh well wit a supercharger. The SC may or may not be bought so looking for advice. Have been looking at jet Perf. chips, mass air flow, cool air, etc. Any advice?

Dont go with a normal off the self chip. Talk to this guy "stanger007" He makes chip for what you want and have on the car. He charges $100.00 and free re-burns when you add new stuff. This is what he told me.

About the only thing I can think of would be new headers and dual exhaust. The main upgrade, CAI and/or tune will be replaced if you supercharge it.

Don't bother with those chip things that plug into your ODBII port under the dash-that's old technology gimmicked to work on the newer computer systems. If you want a tune and want to do it right, get a tuner and tune combo from one of the tune makers. It'll cost more, but you get what you pay for. Unlike your 90 GT which was probably ODBI (I don't think they came out with the ODBIIs until around the mid 90's), the newer Mustangs don't have a place on the computer to plug in a chip, you reflash the existing chip in the computer by downloading the software with a tuner.

Supporting mods for a supercharger aren't limited to just headers and dual exhaust.

You're also going to want to install some kind of limited slip in your rear end (be it trac-loc or detroit tru-trac or whatever) and you might consider 3.73 or even 4.10 gears.

A supercharger is going to put you in GT territory, power-wise, so you'll also face the wheel-hop problem that the GT's get. You'll want UCA/LCA's to fix that little trouble.

You're probably going to want to put in a better drive-shaft too. Probably aluminum. Lots of guys run the stock one with F/I but you'll find that an aftermarket one will perform better and doesn't give out at 125mph like the stock one.

I'm working my way up to F/I myself, either S/C or turbo.

+1 on the Trac-Loc, gears, and new drive shaft.

+1 on the tuner (ie Diablo or Xcal). I've used my Diablo on seperate occasions to retune for C&L CAI, new rims/tires, and new gears.

I'd also add a Hurst shifter and a Screamin'Demon coil with Live Wires. They both make a difference for the better.
