Default Suspension upgrades

I have been reading about the more common suspension upgrades for the v6 being swaybars from the GT. But what are some of the other suspension upgrades available including honest opinions about spring and strut combos. Thanks for any help.

Good question, looking at the spring kits looks like most lower the rear 1 1/4" and the front 1".

Anyone know how much that helps? Coming from a 50/50 weight distribution ind. suspension car to the Mustang surprised me on the amount of rear wheel hop there is even on the V6!

I lowered my V6 convert. w/ Vogsland springs and Tokico HD shocks. The car has a nice, aggressive stance but remember, the ride will stiffen up. If I were you, I'd find someone who has lowered their mustang and test drive it to see if you like the way it feels before taking the pulnge. Just my $.02.

I have already rode a lowered car. I lowered my eclipse I used to have. I just don't want to lower it more than like an inch because of poor PA road conditions.

I run Steeda Ultralights and Tokico D-Spec adjustable shocks. Handles like its on rails but not a comfortable ride!

Sounds like you have a similar opinion on the "stiffness" of the ride as I do. I wonder if a better set up would be to fill the wheel well gap w/ larger diameter tires and just add GT sway bars. Any thoughts?

Doesn't the Pony package come with the GT sway bars?

I hear the strut tower brace from the GT fits in nicely and stiffens the front well. Haven't gotten there yet, but I'm looking for pick-offs.

Do the front strut bars help on convertibles?

Always thought most were a waste for street cars but would not mind stopping some of that cowl shake.

I added a strut tower on my convertible and it helps keep the body flex down when cornering hard. Is it worth the money? It's a toss up. If you drive and corner hard, then yes. If you don't, then save the money for gas.

Any opinions on struts and shocks. Such as the FRPP, tokico's, bilstein's and such? I used to have AGX on my eclipse, do they make them for our cars?

More useful on verts than on coupes.

I don't think they are the same as the GT bars.

I think that the sway bars are a couple of mm thinner on the Pony package than the GT sway bars.

I use Tokico shocks/struts on my car. They are fairly cheap and they are of good quality.

How about the cowl shake from rough roads? Pretty bad shake here in NY.

Thanks.
