MAC longtube headers?

Does anybody have any opinions on the MAC longtubes for the v6? I would really like to install a set of headers but I won't waste time or money on short-tubes when you can get great gains with the long-tubes.

Only concern is they're mild steel and will rust over time.

Is there anything to coat them with that would protect them at all?

Jet Hot coating will protect them for some time but it will eventually peel after a few years.

Sounds like a plan to me. How much gains am I realistically looking at including a tune?
