Default 2007 V6 Axle-back Exhaust Installation

Hello. I was looking on Americanmuscle, and found this exhaust system for V6 Mustangs:

Pypes 409 Stainless Steel Street-Pro Axle-Back with Polished 304 Tip (2005+ V6) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

I'm pretty sure that my model Mustang is not going to have the correct exhaust hangers that they are talking about on their page:

http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/musta...st-notice.html

Is it absolutely necessary to use the extra $45 steel hanger kit that they will sell to you?

One of the people that reviewed this said that he installed it on his V6 easily, not using two of the factory brackets. I'm not sure if that would be so bad.

Thanks

I'd suggest trying to find the hangers on ebay. The pypes version is probably a whole lot more expensive. Usually, anytime that a company wants to sell you their own version, it's more expensive than finding a pair used.

Yeah... I checked already though. Can't find anything that would work well.

I've seen other posts on here of people who say that they didn't use all the factory brackets for installing new axle-back exhaust parts. I remember hearing someone said he was only using 2... how much should there be?

You dont need to buy any additional hangers in order to install a new muffler on your car. If you buy one thats model-specific (made for 2005 mustang v6) then it will bolt up to your factory hangers that are already there.

In a lot of cases you dont even have to take both hangers off all the way to swap the muffler. Mine came off by taking off the rear one and sliding the muffler out of the front one. After that you just do the reverse to get the new muffler on.

If you decide to go duals then you WILL need an additional set of hangers for the drivers side. You'll also need a tap bit in order to thread the holes in the chassis of the car so that your hanger bolts will bolt straight onto the chassis like on the passenger side. You'll also need to trim your v6 bumper so the muffler tip will clear it.
