Mister Ed, that is actually the best sounding GT muffler video I have ever seen. Every video of a take-off muffler never sounds the same as mine does in person. Yours is the best I've heard so far. I've had one problem so far with the take off muffler. I got into a car accident 8 months ago with my Sally, front and rear collision. The muffler was fine except for a bent tip. I just cut it in front of the bend and it actually looked awesome! It was pretty much a flat cut with a slight angle to it that just barely stuck out past the bumper. But a montha and a hlaf ago the muffler started to rattle when it would get warm. It eventually got really bad to where I was embarassed by the sound when driving down the street. My first thought was that the GT muffler just could not handle the 4 liters of exhaust after 20K miles. I was lucky my bro-in-law was going to sell his pair and just sold them to me for $50. My dad on the other hand said that the muffler has a pretty stiff spring for the pressure valve and that the accident may have had something to do with it going bad. My theory was that the GT muffler was designed to have ana average of 2.3L of exhaust passing through it and that 4L of exhaust just gets to be too much after a while. What's every one elses opinion?

well I just received my GT take off mufflers in the mail today. They look fine, does anyone have any pics of ones though? They look really similar to my stock ones. They were off of a manuel transmission to.
I REALLY want to install one soon but I am going on vacation sunday for a week! hopefully my c&l xcal 3 tuner cai combo will arrive by then. It has already been 9 days and still nothing :/

If you can operate a wrench, you can do this yourself. The dealership would probably charge you an hour of labor, whatever that costs.

It sounds good but it looks like the exhaust tip is in contact with your bumper.
it doesnt touch but its close. hasnt melted yet in the arizona heat, so i think im ok

I have a Pypes Violator and I love it, I think it sounds amazing. Though it's not 50 state legal, but I think cops have better things to then chase down car with illegal mufflers.

I have the Pypes Violator's (dual) and I think they are the shiznit, but I have a vibration problem somewhere in the system that is driving me nutz. They really sound badass under full accel though, and I don't mind the drone. I would rather listen to that than the crapy skiping CD player in mine
