Default Single GT Muffler?

I am looking for a good single gt or any other good single muffler. Is it cheaper to go this route?

You can get a GT takeoff muffler cheap. Ford "Take-Off" Axle-Back 2005-06 Mustang GT - FR3-8000-05AA

Very simple (15 minute) install. It will give you a few hp since the V6 muffler is terribly restrictive.

Plus it sounds so much better. My seat of the pants dyno showed improvement right away.

I got a set of gt takeoffs for $0.99 + shipping on ebay. It sounds great and is very easy to install. The tailpipe does sit very close to the bumper though.

I finally installed a GT Takeoff last month.Stlwagon was right on!!! A little deeper at idle, alot more Growl when giving it the gas, much better throttle response, and NO DRONE what so ever at hwy speed or driving in the city inside the car.Gas mileage went up from 28.9 to 30.7 hwy driving between 60-70mph with A/C and cruise control.I highly recommend a Gt muffler.Doesn't cost much compared to the aftermarket mufflers. You'll notice a BIG difference.

That sounds exactly like what I'm looking for right now. Thanks. How much did you pay for install, or did you do it yourself?

I am pretty sure it is cheaper to do it yourself because I don't imagine it being that hard to do.

The last component is a GT muffler, it is a direct bolt in for the 05+ V6 cars. We have seen gains of 10-12RWHP from the muffler alone. We have seen no gains from dual exhaust on NA cars. The muffler is slightly louder and has a polished 3" SS tip.

The install took me more than 15 minutes but it's not complicated. I didn't even have to jack up the car. It took a long time for me mostly because it took quite a bit of muscle to get the old muffler off of the exhaust pipe and I was afraid of damaging something. Once I got good and frustrated and started really working at it everything went pretty quickly.

It's definitely a great, inexpensive, easy upgrade!

I just finished putting my single gt muff. on about 1/2 hour ago. took me longer than 15 as well, but definately sounds a lot better. deeper sounding for sure. The bumper was touching the tailpipe, and i ened up having to bend the bracket in a vice with a hammer. but i now have enough room to stick my finger b/w bumper and pipe.
good luck!
