Noise just before engine turns over

When I go to start my mustang, just before the last key position where the car starts, there is a noise like something spinning in the engine. Anyone know what this is? Just curious

Before you start the car?

The only thing I can think of is your fan/AC turning on. Assuming nothing is wrong with the car.

Are you sure you're not hearing the fuel pump kick on?

Its a brand new car, and its done it since day 1 so im not too worried. Its sounds like something spins for a few seconds. it could be a fuel pump, but it sounds like its coming more from the engine

I'm with "slt" mine makes a noice when I turn the key but not starting it.

Does It Sound Like A Dry Start? Mine Did And It Was The Starter Drive Sticking Out!
