Default 06 gt h pipe true dual conversion

will a stock 06 gt h pipe fit on my 06 v6 with no trouble? i guess the real question is are the pipe diamiters the same from the exhaust manifolds to the y pipe, the same diamiter as a the pipe from the manifolds on a gt to the stock h. if not...who makes just a h or x pipe to fit. i know there are a few good kits but i already have factory mid pipes and mufflers from the same 06 gt.

Stock GT H-pipe will slide over V-6 Y pipe.

It fits good. I cut mine behind the cats aft of the hanger. Clamped them and had them welded later.

I bought the FRPP X-pipe through Summit or Jegs- I forget which. Originally I had the factory GT H-pipe on the car (which I bought from someone on this forum.) I used a factory GT left midpipe (V-6 right pipe is the same as GT except for vibration dampener which I cut off) and factory GT mufflers. I needed to buy two hangers for the left muffler (I reused the V-6 ones on the right.)

I think the H-pipe sounded better, but honestly it's hard to remember now.

The GT H-pipe won't fit if you don't cut it. I cut it right behind the hangers and then took it under the car and lined it up with the Y-pipe and marked where I needed to cut the Y-pipe and new H-pipe for best positioning. I left about 1 to 1 1/2 " overlap and everything went fine. Just take your time. One thing for me was that the hangers weren't in the same place, so line up the H-pipe from where the Y-pipe mates to the mid-pipe when you you compare the two.

The FRPP X-pipe might be a little big on the upstream side if you mate it up to the Y-pipe, but I think they sell the same one for the GT and V-6. I had no problem because it mounts in to where the H-pipe was and the pipes are GT size there.

sorry for the late reply...sad to say i was looking at the h-pipe and realized it was cut off the previous car and i dont think itll work with out having to customize it too much. it was cut where the pipe slides on the mid pipe and where the tails slide in. i how ever am about to score a good deal on a pypes stainless x pipe made for the car and a "gt cat back" (witch i have the factory exhaust off an 06)
THANKS for all the help!
