Default what is the limp- home mode mean?

my 2005 mustang v6 got a limp-home mode light and now it will barely idle .the manual says its the electronic throttle control. any help would be appreciated.

take it to ford, it could a be a couple things but nothing too expensive i would imagine, i got that light and just turned off the car an turned it back on but eventually it would just keep doing it, it was pretty aggravating, it ended up being under warranty w/e it was but if it wasn't it woulda been $35

It's the drive-by-wire system. Either the throttle body or the throttle position sensor.

well the problem was so easy it was stupid...the mass air flow plug had wiggled loose. thanks for your help guys.
