As some of you might have noticed, I like to read up a lot on things that I buy to make sure I understand everything about the thing that I am getting. So now I am thinking ahead of what to get next for my car.
Right now the tuner and from the looks of it a JLT CAI are on the way and should be here Monday (an unexpected but oh so awesome birthday gift from my parents and grandparents). Also I will be getting a GT take-off muffler one day soon I hope. I decided to go with the take-off because from what I understood from reading here is that the biggest difference between a GT and after market mufflers is the sound; and because I am not looking for a LOUD sound and more of a performance gain, I went with GT.
So now that those 3 essential and starting mods are on their way, I was wondering what should I be researching next?
What I am looking out of my car is not a strict track car. Instead I wand a great all around car that is reliable, fun and has the extra power when I need it.
Right now I am throwing around in my head the following mods:
Duals (which I think will be mostly a cosmetic mod)
Headers
Throttle Body
Fitch Fuel Catalyst
T-Lok
Now please to not recommend parts that are several thousand dollars. Had I had that type of funding, I would have went with a GT as my first car
THANKS

That's pretty much where I stopped on the performance mods when I started paying over $4 per gallon. $1200 a month for gas kinda killed my appetite for more power. I'm working on appearance mods now.

Mods: JLT CAI, Bamachips 91 race tune, single Mustang V8 muffler, Mustang V8 swaybars
Looks: smoke front turn signals, sequential taillights, 14" shorty antenna, MRT rear window louvers and a little chrome for the interior 2000 C5 Corvette convertible, Torch Red with Black Interior. Full of options, Corsa exhaust 1990 Ford Bronco 351ci engine- it runs.
I drive 70,000 to 90,000 a year. In my job I cover the Western half of Colorado for installation and service (Utah line to the Rabbit Ears, Vail, Monarch and Wolf Creek passes and The Wyoming line to the New Mexico line). I put in one $60 tank full Mon-Fri and at least once a week it takes 2 tanks in a day to get me out and back. On any given day I'll spend 6 to 8 hrs staring out the windshield to do an hours worth of work. That's why I drive the Mustang. It's comfy, fun and I can go just a little...ahem...bit faster than the speed limit on the 2 lane highways and passes. I usually trade in vehicles when they hit 200,000 to 300,000 miles but I'll be upgrading the drivetrain on this one when I wear it out. Wonder if I'll be able to shoehorn a 351 in there in another year or two? Then I'll be able to enjoy spending $2000 a month for gasoline.

You might as well throw duals out the window as a performance mod, although they might yield a few hp if you're using the GT mufflers on them. If I were you i'd seriously consider adding 3.73 gears to that tlock when you do it. They'll be a nice kick in the butt, performance wise, and wont wreak too much havoc on your gas mileage. Headers are something to consider carefully since they dont give you much of a gain (5rwhp or so) and they're usually upwards of $300. I haven't heard much about getting a different throttle body except that the gains are usually minimal as well. The thing is that eventually it all adds up and although it may not be a supercharger-like effect, 5 horsepower here and 5 horsepower there still adds up to 10 horsepower.

Yeah I was thinking about gears. And from the looks of it I would be using 3.73. Do I have to replace the whole axle or can I simply install the T-Lok and 3.73. It would come out to be $400 cheaper without the axle.
You said through duals out the window. Now is that because I am using GT mufflers or just overall?

You don't have to change the axle to swap out your gears they will work just fine with what you have. Just make sure to do the T-lok at the same time as gears.
Its not recommended gears are a pretty critical thing and you don't want to screw it up. From all that I have read it is better to have a professional do it.

Thought as much.
