Default Underdrive Pulley and Accel Screamin Demon Coil

I was wondering if anyone has any comments on the use of an underdrive pulley. Does it give you the increase that you can feel in the seat of your pants as they claim, or is it more hype? Does it make either the car run hotter or cause a problem with the Air Conditioning or the Alternator??? I am considering getting one but wanted to get some comments from anyone who has experience with them on the 4.0 V6.

Also.. I see that Accel and a company called Screamin Demon both make a stock replacement coil for the 4.0 V6. I used Accel coils in the past and was satisfied with them, but I have never used one on a DIS ... Has anyone replaced their stock coil or ignition and if so what were the results... good bad or no change at all....

Thank everyone who reads and especially to those who respond let me give and extra thanks....
Dave...

Pulleys on a GT work great. Haven't had enough feedback on the V6 to formulate an opinion. I do know a V6 underdrive crank is very expensive.

Stlwagon...

Yes.. the underdrive is expensive for the V6, which is why I hope to get some input so I can make a decision as to whether to invest in one or move on to a CAI... LOL. They both are about the same cost.

Thanks for you comments.... and I appologize that I was using the wrong RWHP in my injector hunt.... Bullmeister set me straight and I thanked him for doing that....

I'd go the CAI route first over the pulleys--much more proven. The jury still seems to be out on V6 pulleys effectiveness.

Thanks for the comments Stlwagon and 63Bmechanic.... I will shelve the idea of the pulley for a while, and go with a C&L CAI and the Screamin Demon and new wires. That ought to hold me for a while... like a day or two... LOL. I will even do the T-lok and gears before the pulley... as they will be of more benefit I am sure. The vehicle the way it is already sends the tire up in smoke if the OD and TCS are off and I punch it....

Thanks for your help so I don't spend my hard earned money on something that will not give me as much benefit as I would like. I am sure you feel the same way with your hard earned money... it is not so easy to come by these days.

I've heard several reports of 3-5hp for the alternator pulley and 4-8hp for the crank pulley. That's a lot of money, time and effort for so little gain.

I've wasted more money on mods than most spend in a lifetime. If I can help someone avoid those same mistakes--great!

Thanks for the heads up 63Bmechanic regarding the master install kit for the t-lok. Most definitely would prefer a working part rather than a paper weight....

Thanks again...

I think Steeda claims 10rwhp for their underdrive pulley. Your AC will take longer to get cold. Let us know how the Demon Coil does ... I've been wanting it myself. I also recommend E3 spark plugs ... awesome!

i think the coil more noticeable if stock coil worn in any way otherwise minimal gains, have considered for awhile getting the crank pulley but $$$ for gains given stopping me... mayve when i need a new belt as shorter belt also needed which drives up costs of this mod as well

I wanted to get the thoughts from others on these two items. Due to the dreaded disease... Fundsalow... I will have to wait a few months before making my next mod. Sometimes I feel like my life is the game, Whack a Mole and I am the mole. Every time I just get out of debt and I can do a mod... wham... back in the hole I go.. LOL. OH well... such is life.

Hope all are getting good gains from their mods... I am happy with my tune on my car.. so I will enjoy that for now.
