Default Couple questions, hopefully some of you can give me some feedback.

I have a 2007 V6, (the 4pointslow) with a K&N Mass Air Intake System, BBK 70mm Throttle Body, underdrive pulleys, JBA shorty ceramic headers, JBA true dual h-pipe exhaust system, JBA power cables, and a short shifter..

Basically, I'm here in San Diego, so JBA did all the labor, because as much as I love cars and think I know about them, I'm still hesitant on doing labor myself. Now that I'm strapped on cash, it's obviously much more difficult to have a shop that charges a bunch do the labor, and I'd rather take advice of people who drive Mustangs then the guys at the shop who thought I was crazy for ever putting a dime into the car.

--Has anyone done the 8.8 rear end swap? I'm thinking of doing it, but can't decide between the 3.73's and the 4.10's. I lost to a automatic GT the other day, and it was only by a car length, so I'm thinking the 4.10's could put me over the top, but I'd rather hear personal opinions.

--Any advice on lowering? I've looked at some kits, which all say 3/4" drop, which I don't think will be low enough. I put 18" CObra R Replicas with 275/30's, and the car looks sort of goofy sitting so high, and I wanted to get it lowered. Will I need shocks when I do this too, and can I do it myself?

--And then the tune issue. I've done a decent amount of work to the motor, and I don't think I'm getting the full potential because I never got it tuned. What would you guys go with, and can I expect a decent increase in power?

Sorry for the mass array of questions; I look through the forum everyday and always have questions, I just never sign in, so I figured i'd give it a shot.

Any advice from admins or whoever would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The 8.8 swap has worked well for a bunch of our V6 members. OEM Parts & OEM Wheels - Original Equipment Parts from NewTakeOff has great deals. As for the lowering springs, a 1.25" rear drop and 1" front has worked well for many of us.

Unless the GT has a bad driver... your not going to beat with a GT without F/I or juice
4:10s will get you closer... if the GT has an intake and tune, forget about it.

Shops say the same thing to me... then I open my hood. Funny how the conversation does a 180

I think a tune would improve your performance. I managed to get 200 RWHP with headers, duals and a K&N CAI and 87 octane tune. (This was before the X-charger.)

hmmm...strange because the GT was an automatic..so I'mn not sure how he could mess up the race..but anyways, seeing as I have 18" wheels, and real low profile tires, when I do springs, should i do shocks?

and whered you guys get your cars supercharged? do it yourself?

You don't have to do the shocks but it would be a good idea.

self install on the X charger

An stock GT is almost a second faster than the 4.0 in the quarter. Stock the GT is high 13's to low 14's and the 4.0 high 14's to low 15's. With an intake and tune the GT usually runs mid 13's. A well outfitted (with bolt ons) 4.0 low 14's.

I did the 8.8 rear end swap and it was simple I order the takeoff gt rear end with 4.10 gears since I dont plan to do an induction until the far future and I put it on my self. Took about 3.5 hours with a little help. I love it.

hey, any time you change springs you should change shocks, especially if your lowering it, you could end up blowing the shocks (have had it happen to me) and youll end up changing them anyways, so its better to save yourself the trouble.
