Is that the only case with non-tuned GT's? I'm not sure if I heard right
Not sure if the V6 is as susceptible to failsafe as the GT. Mine was tuned for the BBK and I had a heck of a time getting the tune to the point where it wouldn't shut down on a hard launch.

Yeah, that was one downside of the new TB's in the S197 GT's.

Zabteck makes a 68mm throttle body that comes with all the factory eletronics attached for about the same as a BBK.
They actually machine out the factory throttle body and make a new thin plate, shaft and screws.
It bolts right up and plugs right in. I haven't had any trouble with mine.

Yesterday the BBK T/B and spacer came in so I spent the evening installing it. After some confusing instructions on the crossover parts I finally coaxed it to go on right. This morning after about 5 minutes of driving I took the spacer off because it made a very annoying whistle sound and since I have vents in my hood none of the sound is masked. So far I really haven't seen any improvements but i'm still being hopefull.....maybe it was just 250 bucks down the drain

I went through this whole thing with my Granettelli 70mm TB.
My car ended up back on the dyno after the check engine light came on. The TB was over $500 and the dyno time was $190.
It made my system run too rich, so they leaned it out a bit.
I have previous threads on here about that whole deal.
I would say it was a total waste of money, but it did improve my gas mileage by a lot and the initial dyno result showed a loss of power by 11 HP. It took the dyno guys half the day to get that HP back. But they were able to get it back and there was definately VERY LITTLE gains there; a whole 4ftlbs of torque.
The BBK 70mm is over rated. I dunno if you can tune them, but if you can, do it. My throttle response is super sensitive, and gets stuck every now and again, and will keep going up till I put the clutch of all things down.
